Over the weekend we took a trip to the lake! We love visiting Paul (Paulie) and Cathy (Ya Ya)! This was Peyton's first over night outting. She was a trooper and slept great both nights (only waking up once each night), BUT she did NOT want to nap during the day! She wanted to know what was going on all day Saturday and only slept an hour that morning when it was raining. She hated our very short boat ride that I thought she would fall asleep on as well! Paul brought us back home and then took Cooper on a fast boat ride which he ALWAYS loves.
Cooper and Shawn fished and swam a lot this weekend! Cooper was happy fishing with his pole that has a plastic fish attached to it... he caught the same fish each time, but it kept him happy! He amazes me everyday with what he can do. This weekend he actually began to cast out his own line with his little pole. He does a really good job and makes it look so easy!!!! I'm not looking forward to the trip to the lake where he wants to catch real fish.. the hooks scare me!!!
Our main reason for the lake trip this weekend was because Shawn had to meet some contractors over at my Grandma's lake house Saturday morning. They are working on bids to remodel the basement since we found mold this Spring :( It is a sad but happy change for my Grandma. Her life has changed so much since Grandpa passed in December... Now her home away from home needs to be completely gutted which is not going to be an easy task. Luckily, she has lots of help from Shawn, my brother, cousin, and brother-in-law. I would call each of them a pretty good handyman that will get the job done right! We will be making a lot more trips to the lake this summer because of this.... the kiddos and I will go to get out of the house and the guys will be working hard!
