4th of July Weekend!

Friday, July 1st:  We had a VERY busy weekend!  It all started at Mema's house Friday afternoon.  It was Daddy's first day off of summer school so we went swimming at Mema and Papa Rick's pool.  Mema stayed in the house with Peyton because it was so hot!  Uncle Bo and Kara also joined us at the pool before the fireworks!  I didn't snap any pictures at the pool :( BUT I did snap a few as everyone left and Mommy stayed at the pool ALL BY HERSELF to soak up some sun!!  Cooper had Papa Rick running back to the house!  I only lasted 30 minutes because I was bored!!  I love my babies and felt weird sitting there doing nothing!! 

Legacy Park in Lee's Summit shot off their fireworks to music!  Cooper loved the fireworks and were so amazed that they changed colors so quickly :) Peyton was a trooper... she wasn't grouchy, but she only napped about 30 minutes all afternoon and evening!

We also celebrated a late Father's Day with Papa Rick!  Papa Rick bought all the grandkids automatic nerf guns to play with at his house awhile back.  Cooper is the one who got everyone in love with his nerf guns... the basement can turn into a war zone very quickly :)  SUCH A BOY!! :)  For Father's Day we all decided to go in together and buy him a "Papa" sized automatic Nerf gun!!  Needless to say, HE LOVED IT!!!

Saturday, July 2nd:  Saturday afternoon Mommy, Peyton and Cooper spent the afternoon with Mema, while Daddy and Papa Rick went golfing (which was not a good idea, because it was VERY hot outside)!!!  We went shopping at Babies R' Us and then came back to Mema's house.  When we got back Peyton was laying on the floor talking and smiling at Mema, when all of a sudden she started to try and roll !!!!  Peyton is ONLY 9 1/2 weeks old!!  She did it though!  She rolled over from her back to her tummy!!

After the boys were done golfing we went to Grandma and Grandpa Callahan's house!!  They live right around the corner from Powell Gardens and they were having a firework display Saturday night!  Cooper loved it again, but also wanted to play with all of his toys!  Peyton not only rolled over this weekend, but she also started taking a binky!!  YAY!!!  She fell asleep with her binky that night when we got home, too!!!

Cooper is almost too big for his little power wheels!  He's got the reverse down pat though!  Time to upgrade! :)

Sunday, July 3rd:  We hung out at Uncle Doug and Aunt Lu's house in Holden. We were planning on going swimming in their heated pool, BUT it rained and was cloudy.  We still grilled out, but not much swimming.  Cooper was disappointed! (I didn't snap any pics)

Monday, July 4th:  We were invited to go out to Andy Mayfield's parent's house this afternoon.  Cooper was so excited to see Emma and to go swimming with her!  It was a beautiful day with a little breeze for little Peyton to stay cool.

 Emma, who is 4, is a little fish!  She jumps off the diving board and swims under water!  She is a great little swimmer!  Cooper had no desire to jump in the water, but loved watching Emma!

We went home right before it got dark.  We didn't want anything to do with fireworks anymore, so we came home and tried to go to sleep in our VERY noisy neighborhood!
