A Relaxing Day Off Work??

Friday, October 28th
WOW!  What a day!
It all started with Shawn and I talking...  "It's going to be so nice to have the same days off!  We will be able to get so much accomplished!"  WOW!!  We need to watch what we say!  Yesterday, was crazy!  10:20 - Cooper and Peyton's dr. appointment
Which by the way, Peyton is now 17 pounds 6 ounces in the 75% and 26 inches long in the 50%. Peyton had her shots and a flu shot that I decided to have her get last minute!  Cooper weighs 39 pounds.  Cooper checked out well and was such a good boy!  I was sooo nervous taking both kids myself, knowing what maybe could happen!  BUT Cooper was PERFECT!!  He stepped up on the scale without throwing a fit, he layed down on the table to let Dr. Powell check him without saying a word, and he received his flu mist without a flinch!  Dr. Powell said he earned 5 stickers!!!  That was a huge deal to the Callahan Family!
Shawn stayed home during the appointments because the Maytag guy was supposed to be there to look at the washer between 9 and noon and the Home Depot guy was going to be there at 11 to install our new back door!  Back door was much needed before winter hit this here... we had ice on the inside of our door last door!  not good.  We won't have to worry about that anymore!  New door looks great!  Maytag guy on the other hand informed us that it would cost almost $400 to fix our 4 year old washer whose warranty expired over the summer!  Seriously.  We decided not to go that route and spend $150 more to get a new washer with another warranty!
sooo... maytag guy came and left pretty quickly!  Home Depot guy arrived at 11:30 and had everything cleaned up and completed by 1:30!  The kids and I got back around noon from the doctor.  Peyton loved sitting in her Bumbo seat to watch this stranger work on our house :)  It kept her very entertained! :)  He was a very nice guy and enjoyed Peyton's company as well!
We were going to go to a kids Halloween party at noon, but there was so much going on!!
The Home Depot guy left just in time for Cooper's 2:00 hair appointment!  This time we couldn't get Ashley, who Cooper loves, but we had Amy and she was great with him!  Cooper decided that his 5 stickers from the doctor was enough for the day though :(  He didn't care what we bribed him with to sit for his hair cut, he had already decided that he was not going to cooperate!  It was a struggle, but the hair cut was a success once again!  While we were out, we went by my Mom's house who has been in Cancun all week (hurricanes and all) to get their mail.  Then, we went to Old Navy... I've been on a hunt for a winter coat for Cooper that is not priced at $60-$100!!!  It's been a struggle as well, but I had success at Old Navy!  ONLY $22.00!!  I'm standing in line at Old Navy and receive a text from Ms. Lisa (Cooper's preschool teacher).  It read, "When are you going to pick up these girls, they have asked me about 100 times when Aunt Teffie is going to be here :)"    The time got away from me all day!  We hurried home and I dropped off Shawn, Cooper and Peyton and  headed to Ms Lisa's house to pick up Tatum and Hailey for a fun afternoon together!  I only had one carseat so I picked up Tatum first, took her to my house and dropped her off with Shawn and then turned around and left again to go get Hailey!  The girls didn't even take a nap at Lisa's house, because they were SOOO excited that I was picking them up :)  We were told by Ms. Lisa that next time we just have to surprise them because that is ALL that they talked about ALL day!  Cooper, Hailey and Tatum had a lot of fun playing with each other while I started getting the Halloween cookies ready to decorate!  Regina came over when she got off work at about 5:00 and then Mindy arrived about 6:30!  We had spaghetti and then had fun icing all of the cookies!
I was so busy trying to keep Peyton happy through the chaos that this was the only picture I snapped of the cookie mess!

Regina bought fun little crafts for the KIDS to make... next time she needs to bring a "Mommy" drink for the Mommies when she brings crafts! :)  OR look at the box and read the age it recommends :)  It was a little stressful, BUT we all had a great time!!!!!! :)  Here are some pictures to prove it :)
Finished products!!!  Notice... the children are not even around to get pictures with their crafts... they were playing downstairs the whole time while the adults tried to get them together! :)

Don't the crafts look like fun?!?!  So much fun that the "Moms" FORGOT about the last batch of cookies in the oven!  YEP!  The following picture is not a chocolate cookie!!  It is definitely burnt to a crisp... we were so intense about the crafts that we completely forgot about them... I had left the room to go change Peyton into her PJs and when I came back it smelled HORRIBLE and Mindy and Regina didn't even notice because they were so in tune to their craft :)  We all gave each other that look like, UH OH!!  YEP, this is what we got!
We had to have some fun with it though!  That's when we called Uncle BoBo (lives 2 blocks away) and told him that the kids made him special cookies just for him!!!  Uncle Bo and Kara came over right away to have a few cookies and a glass of milk!!  We left the "special chocolate" cookies for BoBo!  He ALMOST fell for it!  The cookie was in his mouth but he didn't bite down because we started laughing so hard!
During all of this chaos Shawn left for Nebraska Furniture Mart and picked up a new washer!! YAY!!  He came home and ate a "special" cookie!!  He definitely took a huge bite and fell for it!
Hailey took a "special" cookie home for her Daddy too!  He took some big bites as well!
Moral of the story is... "Mommy drinks may be needed for next event!"
